Shobhna Aggarwal of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Kirandeep Kaur of Hindu Kanya Collegiate School, Kapurthala and Guru Nanak College of Education for Women, Kapurthala emerged as the winners of the Poetical Recitation and Quiz competitions respectively. These competitions were arranged by the Post Graduate Department of Hindi on the occasion of the Closing Ceremony of Hindi Protsahan Saptah held at Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala on 14th September 2023 under the patronage of the College President, Shri Tilak Raj Aggarwal. The event highlighted the everlasting importance of nation’s most widely spoken language, Hindi. Shri Simar Sadosh, an eminent Hindi poet and litterateur graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Shri Ravi Dara, Assistant Director, Youth Services, Kapurthala chaired the event as the Guest of Honour. The Poetical Recitation competition was adjudged by Dr. Asha Sharma, Associate Professor ( Retd.), Kamla Nehru College, Phagwara and Ms. Ritu Kalsi, a notable journalist. Participants enthralled the audience by their impressive rhetoric and oratory skills. Musical performances like Invocation of God, Doha Recitation and Choreography created an enchanting ambience for everyone. Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, Head of the Hindi Department welcomed the guests and enlightened the audience about a week long inter- class activities conducted from 8th to 13th September 2023 by the department encompassing Signature Campaign, Caption Writing Contest, competitions based on Vocabulary Comprehension, Picture based Creative Writing and Essay Writing. She also coordinated the second competition i.e. Quiz effectively. In the Poetical Recitation competition, Jaspreet Kaur of Guru Nanak National College for Women, Nakodar and Tushar Chaddha of D.A. V.College, Jalandhar bagged 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Dr. Simar Sadosh accloded the earnest efforts rendered by the organizers and acknowledged the scintillating participants’ zeal in the apt words. Shri Ravi Dara enlightened the audience about the richness and diversity of the Hindi language which voices the human expressions and social issues elegantly. Dr. Archna Garg paid her gratitude to the guests and judges.She congratulated the winners of all competitions and complimented the Hindi department for arranging diverse activities. She motivated the students to feel proud of the Hindi language as it engulfs the essence of our heritage and culture. Dr. Tajinder from the Hindi department hosted the event with great efficacy.
