New Delhi November 1, 2026 (MANMOHAN SINGH)

Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee President Sardar Harmeet Singh Kalka and general secretary Sardar Jagdeep Singh Kahlon expressed heartfelt gratitude to the women’s satsang sabhas who arrived in large numbers from different parts of delhi for a special gurmat samagam. The samagam was held at Bhai Lakkhi Shah Vanjara Hall, Gurdwara Rakab ganj sahib, to mark the culmination of the 350th martyrdom centenary commemorations of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. Both dsgmc leaders said that the congregation’s boundless love, devotion, and cooperation are the true strength of these historic commemorations.

Both said that the large participation of the women’s satsang groups in today’s congregation marked a devout beginning to the concluding programmes of the centenary commemorations. Both leaders stated that, with the blessings and support of the sangat, all these events would be organised with the same grandeur and on the same scale as the historic gatherings held at the Red Fort grounds last year.

Both added that the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee is using the centenary commemorations to connect every section of society with guru sahib’s supreme martyrdom and unparalleled sacrifice. They noted that a marathon held last week had engaged young people and children with this historic occasion, while today’s participation by the women’s satsang groups gave the commemorations still greater spiritual and emotional significance.

Both informed the congregation that the formal commencement of the concluding centenary programmes took place after the recitation of Sri Sukhmani Sahib and the sacred saloks of the Ninth Patshah, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, followed by Gurbani kirtan.

Sardar Kalka and Sardar Kahlon said that Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji’s martyrdom remains an incomparable example of selfless sacrifice for religious freedom, human rights, and the protection of one’s faith for all humanity. Both further added said that this historic occasion offers a golden opportunity to convey Guru Sahib’s message of universal fellowship, fearlessness, and the protection of humanity across the world more effectively.

Both leaders appealed to the entire congregation to participate wholeheartedly in the centenary commemorations, emphasising that these are not the initiatives of any single institution but a collective endeavour of the entire Sikh community. They said that this historic opportunity, received through Guru Sahib’s immense grace, is exceptionally fortunate, and such occasions do not come again and again.

Thanking all the mothers, sisters, and congregations present at the event, both expressed confidence that the sangat would continue to extend the same generous support in the future and that the centenary commemorations would be made truly memorable.
