Kapurthala, June 26

In compliance with the directions of the Election Commission of India, Booth Level Officers in Kapurthala have distributed 193864 enumeration forms till 8 pm on the second day of ongoing house-to-house campaign being conducted under Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls on Friday.

Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Akash Bansal said the district-wide door-to-door exercise began on Thursday and will cover all 6,14,981 electors in the district’s four Assembly constituencies through 791 BLOs. He appealed to all eligible voters to actively participate in the revision process to ensure that no genuine elector is left out of the electoral rolls. He informed that electors are required to fill in the enumeration form provided by the BLO and return the completed original during the BLO’s subsequent visit while retaining the duplicate copy for their record.

The Deputy Commissioner said each BLO has been assigned around 750 to 842 electors. By 8 pm on the second day, a total of 193864 forms had already been distributed through household visits. He added that every BLO will make up to three visits to each household. If a house is found locked, the form will be left at the doorstep.

Every elector will receive two pre-printed copies of the enumeration form—an original and a duplicate. The completed original is to be submitted to the BLO during the next visit, following which an acknowledgement receipt will be issued. The duplicate copy will remain with the elector. In case the elector is not available, the form may be handed over to any adult member of the family.

Bansal further urged voters who do not receive the form to contact their respective BLO using the available contact number or make use of the “Book a Call with BLO” facility. He also advised electors to verify their details through the ECI and CEO Punjab websites or the ECINET mobile application.

The Deputy Commissioner said the house-to-house enumeration drive will continue till July 24. The rationalisation of polling stations will also be completed by July 24, while the draft electoral rolls will be published on August 3, 2026. Claims and objections can be filed between August 3 and September 2, 2026. These will be disposed of between August 3 and September 28, following which the final electoral rolls will be published on October 1, 2026.
