NSS Units of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala inaugurated its Seven Day NSS Camp on 21st December 2024 at Government Senior Secondary School, Kanjli by planting saplings in the School premises. College Principal Dr. Archna Garg, Principal, GSSS, Kanjli S. Manjit Singh and Kanjli Sarpanch S. Jasvir Singh, Panchayat Members, Dr. Sulakhan Singh from Rupanpur graced the ceremony. On the 2nd Day i.e. on 22nd December 2024, a Workshop on ‘Physical Fitness’ was conducted. At Kanjli, students also contributed their services by preparing the langar ar a village religious ceremony organized by the villagers. An Extension Lecture on ‘Character Building’ was arranged in which the Resource Person, Shri Jagram, a leading litterateur and North India, Coordinator, from Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas apprised NSS volunteers about the parameters to build a powerful character which further helps us to become more independent and emotionally stronger, and better at dealing with problems. The session was graced by many notable dignitaries. From I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University, Kapurthala Dr. Nitya Sharma, Deputy Controller, Dr. S.K.Mishra, Registrar, Dr. Rajeev and Dr. Chandra Prakash were present along with Dr. Anju, Director DAVIET, Dr. Gobind from Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, Dr. Sachin, Professor from Hoshiarpur. On the third day i.e. 23rd December 2024, NSS volunteers participated in the Cleanliness Drive at Government Senior Secondary School at Kanjli. Students cleaned the school campus. and helped in beautifying the school campus. They also helped in raking the dry leaves and weed growth and defining the borders of the flower beds. Students also enjoyed watching a religious movie, “Chaar Sahibzaade”. This activity not only provided repose and entertainment after the cleanliness activity, but also attached students with their rich Sikh ethos, moral values and sacrifices made by the four sons of Shri Guru Gobind Singhji. Students also helped in preparing the lunch and relished the nutritious meal with everyone. In the afternoon session, a Workshop on ‘Power Point Presentation’ was arranged in which, the Resource Person, Mrs. Hardeep Kaur from the P. G. Department of Computer Science and IT demonstrated the steps to prepare Power Point Presentation impressively by applying different images, videos, transitions, effects and animations. 103 student volunteers were present during this camp. Principal Dr. Archna Garg applauded the various community activities arranged by the NSS Programme Officers of the College NSS Units, Dr. Amanjyoti, Mrs. Suvit Das, Mrs. Ramandeep Kaur and Mrs. Hardeep Kaur and encouraged NSS Volunteers to involve themselves wholeheartedly in the community enrichment activities.
