As per the directions issued by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change ( MoEF & CC), Govt.of India and the State Nodal Agency, Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, the Eco Club of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala organized an activity under the Environment Education Program on 12th & 13th November 2024. Ms. Ravina, Member of the Cell conducted a workshop on ‘Best Out of Waste’ and demonstrated various methods to create new items from the discarded materials available at home. Additionally, students participated in cleanliness activity under the leadership of Mrs. Seema, Convener and Dr. Veena Kumari, Member of the Cell. Students cleaned and beautified the college garden with herbal and ornamental plants. 35 students participated in this environment awareness program. During these two activities, children created various articles, including lace designs, wall paintings, pot paintings and learned how to transform discarded bottles into beautiful flowerpots using materials readily available at home. Students also took the pledge to protect their environment and to keep it clean, green and hygienic. College Principal Dr. Archna Garg applauded the efforts of the Cell for organizing environment awareness activities to sensitize young students towards preserving their environment for a better tomorrow.
