The President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Sardar Harmeet Singh Kalka, and general secretary, Sardar Jagdeep Singh Kahlon, attended the formal launch of new medical services for cancer patients at the Guru Harkrishan Institute of Medical Sciences, located within the Gurdwara Bala Sahib complex, here today.
On the occasion, the both dsgmc leaders said that providing modern, quality and affordable treatment to patients battling serious illnesses such as cancer is an important form of humanitarian service. Both stated that the introduction of cancer-care services at the Guru Harkrishan Institute of Medical Sciences would enable patients to receive expert medical consultation and improved treatment facilities under one roof.
Harmeet Singh Kalka and Jagdeep Singh Kahlon extended their special appreciation to Gurdev Singh, Chairman of the Guru Harkrishan Institute of Medical Sciences, saying that this significant service had been made possible through his visionary leadership and dedicated efforts. Both leaders also commended the institute’s dedicated doctors ,particularly its specialist oncologists—as well as the healthcare professionals and the entire team for their valuable contribution towards providing modern and comprehensive treatment facilities for cancer patients.
Both leaders said that the primary objective of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee has always been to serve humanity selflessly, and that this spirit of service was now being further strengthened in the field of healthcare. They also added that providing every needy patient not only with treatment but also with compassion, dignity and emotional support was an important responsibility of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee.
Both leaders further stated that the DSGMC would remain fully committed to providing selfless service, compassionate healthcare and comprehensive support to patients in the future as well. Inspired by the teachings of the sikh gurus, continuous efforts would be made to expand and strengthen this humanitarian initiative, they said.
