Kapurthala, September 22
District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Akash Bansal on Tuesday held a video conference with all the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) of the district and 50 BLOs from various Assembly Constituencies whose progress in the hearing of notices was found to be unsatisfactory.
During the virtual meeting, the District Election Officer sought details from the concerned BLOs regarding the reasons for the pendency and directed them to complete the notice-hearing process within the timeline prescribed by the Election Commission of India. He said that, in compliance with the directions of the Election Commission of India, the process of issuing notices and conducting hearings of voters identified as unmapped voters and those having logical discrepancies was underway as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls from August 13, 2026 to October 8, 2026.
The District Election Officer also appealed to all unmapped voters and voters having logical discrepancies, who have not yet submitted the required documents to their respective BLOs or Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), to submit their documents to the concerned BLOs before September 30, 2026, so that their cases could be processed within the stipulated timeframe.
