Over 5.58 lakh voters receive enumeration forms in district

As per the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI), Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in Kapurthala district have distributed enumeration forms to nearly 91 per cent of eligible voters till 8 pm on the fourth day of the ongoing house-to-house campaign under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Notably, 100 per cent distribution of enumeration forms has been achieved in the Sultanpur Lodhi Assembly constituency.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Akash Bansal said the district-wide house-to-house drive commenced on June 25. He informed that all 1,46,682 electors in the Sultanpur Lodhi Assembly constituency have been provided enumeration forms. Across the district, 5,58,739 out of a total 6,14,981 registered voters have received their forms so far.
Appealing to the public to actively participate in the Special Intensive Revision, the Deputy Commissioner said the exercise is aimed at ensuring that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral rolls.
He said that after receiving the pre-filled enumeration forms from the BLOs, electors should carefully verify the details, complete the required information and hand over the original form to the BLO during the next visit while retaining the duplicate copy for their records.
Mr. Bansal informed that every BLO will visit each household up to three times for the collection of completed forms. If a house is found locked, the enumeration form will be left at the doorstep. Each elector will receive two copies of the pre-printed form—one original and one duplicate. Upon submission of the completed original form, the BLO will issue an acknowledgement receipt.
He further clarified that if the elector is unavailable, the form may be handed over to any adult member of the family.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to electors who do not receive their forms to contact their respective BLO using the contact details provided or utilise the “Book a Call with BLO” facility. He also advised voters to verify their electoral details through the ECI website, CEO Punjab website and the ECINET mobile application.
He informed that the house-to-house enumeration exercise will continue till July 24, 2026, while the rationalisation of polling stations will also be completed by the same date. The draft electoral rolls will be published on August 3, 2026. Claims and objections may be filed from August 3 to September 2, while their disposal will take place between August 3 and September 28. The final electoral rolls will be published on October 1, 2026.
