The Department of Social Sciences of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala celebrated the “10th National Constitution Day” to educate students about the importance of the Indian Constitution and to raise awareness about their duties. On this occasion, Mrs. Varinder Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, addressed the students and highlighted the significance of National Constitution Day. She explained that the Indian Constitution was adopted on November 26, 1949, and came into effect on January 26, 1950, to ensure the smooth functioning of the country. She also mentioned that the Indian Constitution is the longest in the world and was originally handwritten in Hindi and English. The Preamble to the Constitution is its soul, providing insight into the Constitution’s principles and objectives.On the occasion of Constitution Day, students took an oath to fulfill their duties as ideal citizens, protect the unity and integrity of the nation, and uphold the principles of the Constitution. College Principal Dr. Archna Garg appreciated the efforts of the Department in organizing this activity to raise awareness among students. Mrs. Seema Rani, Head of the Department, Dr. Amanjyoti and students were present to attend this event.
