Under the Khedan Wattan Punjab Diyan 2024, block level sports competitions will start tomorrow (September 4) at Guru Nanak stadium Kapurthala where 5400 sportsmen will participate along with 350 match officials.
Deputy commissioner Kapurthala Amit Kumar Panchal said that the district administration has made adequate arrangements for smooth conduct of sports extravaganza including refreshment/security etc .
Calling upon the people to also make maximum participation in sports for a healthy society, the Deputy commissioner also said that “ these games will provide a much needed platform to budding players for their bright future”.
In block level games , athletics , kabbadi ( national style and circle style ) Kho -kho , football and volleyball will take place in the age category of under -14, 17,21 . Besides that people will also be able to participate in the age group of 31-40, 41-50,51-60,61-70 and above 70 years .
