 In order to check delivery of ration at beneficiaries’ doorsteps, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal on Sunday evening visited a site, where ration was being distributed amongst beneficiaries. While interacting with the officials providing ration to people, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal also inspected the process as well as speaking with the beneficiaries, who expressed satisfaction and delight over smooth distribution of ration. He said that the Punjab Government’s Ghar Ghar Muft Ration (doorstep delivery of ration) scheme was meant to ensure hassle free delivery of ration to beneficiaries near to their homes. He said that the beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act would get packaged Atta (wheat flour)/wheat in their localities where officials concerned through model fair price shops would provide flour/wheat to them. Deputy Commissioner directed the officials of designated agency Markfed to ensure the seamless distribution and people should not face any problem in getting their ration. He said that mandatory requirements of biometric verification, handing over of printed weigh slip to the beneficiaries and others would also be done meticulously at the time of distribution.Panchal also instructed the officials of Markfed to keep regular visits at the sites where ration would be distributed in the district so as to ensure hassle free process in larger interest of beneficiaries besides informing them in prior about distribution. Pertinently, as many as 25 Model Fair Price Shops have already been setup for door to door delivery of flour/wheat in the villages across district. The delivery is being carried out under the supervision of Markfed officials as total 163648 beneficiaries of 44305 beneficiary families have already been attached. The delivery of wheat flour/wheat has begun all the locations in the rural areas of the district through the Model Fair Price Shops for two categories namely Antodya and Priority Household. Under Ghar Ghar Muft Ration initiative, as many as 1580 quintal wheat and 880 quintal wheat flour has been delivered to 12900 ration card holder beneficiaries so far.
