Kapurthala, October 21: Observing Police Commemoration Day here at Police Lines, SSP Vatsala Gupta asserted that the district police would extend all possible help & support to the families of martyrs as well as due respect & honour to them. While paying floral tributes to police martyrs at memorial, SSP Vatsala Gupta also asked the senior police officers to ensure that the grievances of martyrs families should be resolved at the right earnest besides getting their works in respective police offices cleared in minimal time to facilitate them. The martyrs have made supreme sacrifices to safeguard the unity and integrity of the country, said the SSP adding that the martyrs would always be remembered by one and all, who laid down their lives in the line of duty. She said that the district police was fully committed for the welfare of the families of the martyrs so as these families should not face any problem in offices to get their works done. She also asked the officers if any issue of these families was brought to their notice that should be addressed as early as possible on top priority. The SSP also took salute from guard, led by DSP Khushpreet Singh, which paid tributes to martyrs by reversing arms and observing two minute silence. The entire gathering also joined the two-minute silence. The SSP also honoured the family members of martyrs besides interacting with them. She also assured them the district police would ensure needful support, in need, to them. SP (H) Tejbir Singh Hundal, SP (D) Ramninder Deol, SP(PBI) Surinder Kumar, SDM Lal Biswas, DSPs Gurmit Singh, Ashok Kumar, Harjinder Singh, Dr Manpreet Shimar and other police officials besides family members paid tributes to the martyrs. Earlier, DSP (Narcotics Cell) Ashok Kumar read the names of martyrs from different states.
