Bholath, October 1: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Rupinder Singh on Thursday said that paddy procurement had commenced in Bholath and all necessary arrangements were in place at grain markets to ensure convenience for farmers during the procurement season.
Appealing to farmers to bring only clean and dry paddy to the mandis, the SDM said that bringing paddy with excessive moisture could lead to unnecessary delays and inconvenience. He urged farmers to ensure that their produce met the prescribed moisture norms before bringing it to the procurement centres. He further emphasised that the administration was committed to ensuring smooth and hassle-free procurement and timely payments to farmers. He appealed to farmers to not to burn the stubble after harvesting.
