Taking another step towards strengthening civic amenities and ensuring efficient functioning of street lights, the Municipal Corporation Kapurthala has successfully allotted the tender for the maintenance of street lights across the city.
The tender process was carried out by the Municipal Corporation as per the prescribed rules and regulations. The work has now been formally allotted following completion of the required technical and financial evaluation process. The initiative is aimed at ensuring timely availability of essential street-lighting material and prompt maintenance of street lights, thereby improving illumination on city roads and streets and providing greater convenience and safety to residents.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner Anupam Kaler added that effective maintenance of street lights is an important priority for ensuring better civic services. She said that necessary action would be taken to ensure that maintenance-related complaints addressed promptly and street lights remain functional across the city. She said that the concerned officials and field staff have also been directed to ensure effective monitoring of street-light maintenance and prompt response to complaints received from residents.
The Commissioner further said that well-lit roads and public spaces were essential for the safety and convenience of residents, particularly during night hours. She said that the Municipal Corporation Kapurthala was committed to improving civic infrastructure, strengthening public services and ensuring better facilities for city residents, with a focus on efficient, responsive and citizen-centric delivery of municipal services.
