Deputy Commissioner Akash Bansal on Friday held a review meeting of officials from banks and government departments of the district.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the performance of banks in the district up to the quarter ending March 2026. Under the Annual Credit Plan (ACP) 2025–26, the banks delivered an outstanding performance by not only achieving their targets but exceeding them with an achievement rate of 113.04%. He appreciated the banks for the accomplishment and encouraged them to maintain the same level of performance during the current year.
He instructed bank officials to ensure that all government-sponsored loan applications forwarded by various departments are disposed of within the stipulated timeline prescribed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). This would help banks achieve their lending targets while enabling beneficiaries to receive loans on time to start or expand their businesses.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that no sponsored loan case should remain pending in any bank under any circumstances. Appreciating the banks’ performance under the Central Government’s Social Security Schemes, he urged them to achieve 100% coverage under these schemes. He also directed banks to maintain zero customer complaints so that the public continues to receive efficient and quality banking services.
Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Lead District Manager (LDM) Kawaljeet Singh, NABARD DDM Jagminder Singh Bindra, RBI LDO Divyanshu, RSETI Director Sonia Makkar, officials from various government departments, and District Coordinators of all banks.
