855 teams to administer polio drops to 86501 children aged 0–5 years
DC urges officials to sensitize parents about importance of pulse polio round

Deputy Commissioner Akash Bansal on Friday stated that the a National Pulse Polio Immunization campaign will be conducted across the district from June 28 to 30.
Chairing a review meeting to assess preparedness for the campaign, the Deputy Commissioner said that 855 health teams have been deployed to administer polio drops to 86,501 children in the 0–5 years age group. Of these, 20 transit teams and 77 mobile teams have been constituted to ensure comprehensive coverage. Additionally, 104 supervisory teams have been formed to closely monitor and supervise the implementation of the campaign.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the mobile teams will cover children residing in semi-urban areas, slums, and small as well as large industrial units, while the transit teams will administer polio drops to children at bus stands, railway stations, and other transit points.
Emphasizing the need for coordinated efforts, he directed all concerned departments, including the Education Department, Rural Development and Panchayat Department, Public Works Department, Transport Department, District Programme Office, General Manager of the Bus Stand, and Railway authorities, to extend wholehearted support for the successful conduct of the campaign.
The Deputy Commissioner further instructed officials to launch an intensive awareness campaign to educate parents about the importance of polio immunization. He said that extensive publicity should be carried out through public address systems, frontline health workers, sarpanches, councillors, and other community representatives to ensure that no eligible child is left out during the campaign. He also appealed to parents and guardians to ensure that every child below five years of age is administered the life-saving polio drops during the three-day campaign.
