The Students Legal Literacy Cell of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala organized a Declamation Contest on the topic ‘Drug-Free Punjab’ on 28th November 2025 as per directions of Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar( Mohali). The students enthusiastically participated, expressing their views on the growing drug problem in Punjab and discussing possible solutions. Sukhamanpreet Kaur, daughter of S. Dalbir Singh from 10+2 Arts, secured the first position, while Bhumika, daughter of Mr. Sunil Kaura from 10+2 Commerce, was awarded the second place. This contest was adjudged by Dr. Bhupinder Kaur, Head, P.G. Department of Punjabi, Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Assistant Professor from the P.G. Department of Hindi and Ms. Reena Salota from the Department of English. Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, the Officiating Principal of the college, appreciated the efforts of the Students Legal Literacy Cell for creating social awareness regarding the burning issue of drug addiction. The winners were felicitated with prizes and certificates. The event was coordinated by Dr. Ritu Gupta, Convener of the Legal Literacy Cell and Mrs. Ramandeep Kaur, Cell Member. Academic In-charge Mr. Sanjeev Bhalla, teaching staff members and students were present on this occasion. Dr. Renu Soni, Member of the organizing cell conducted the proceedings efficiently.
