Constitution Day celebrated at Hindu Kanya College

The Department of Political Science at Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala celebrated Constitution Day on 26th November 2025 with the aim of educating students about the importance of the Indian Constitution and creating awareness about their duties as responsible citizens. On this occasion, Mrs. Varinder Kaur, Assistant Professor from the Department of Political Science, addressed the students and explained the significance of Constitution Day. She informed them that the Constitution of India was adopted on November 26, 1949, and came into effect in 1950 to ensure the smooth governance of the nation. She highlighted that the Indian Constitution is the largest in the world and was originally handwritten in both Hindi and English. The Preamble, she emphasized, is the soul of the Constitution, offering insight into its principles and objectives. On this occasion, students also took an oath to uphold all their duties as ideal citizens and to protect the unity and integrity of the nation. The Officiating Principal Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, appreciated the Department of Political Science for organizing this informative event which aimed at raising awareness among students regarding salient features of their constitution.
