Online applications for new ration cards and addition of members begin in Kapurthala district from July 22

District Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (DFSC) Controller Jasjeet Kaur on Wednesday informed that on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, online applications have been invited for issuance of new Ration Cards and addition of members to existing Ration Cards under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013 and the Smart Ration Card Scheme.

Giving more information, Kaur stated that the objective of this initiative is to ensure inclusion of all eligible families and beneficiaries through a transparent, fair and technology-driven process. Application forms for issuance of new ration cards and addition of members are available in both Punjabi and English and can be downloaded from the department’s website foodsuppb.gov.in. She advised all applicants to carefully read the instructions before filling the form and to submit the completed application along with all required supporting documents. She further stated that applications can be submitted online through the nearest Sewa Kendra or Common Service Centre (CSC). A processing fee of Rs 100 per application will be charged for applications submitted through Sewa Kendras/CSCs, she said and added applicants can also submit their applications online themselves through the portal ercms.punjab.gov.in for which no fee will be charged for applications submitted directly by through the portal.

The DFSC added that applicants can also submit the duly filled application form along with the required documents and a fee of Rs 100 per application at the office of the District Controller, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Kapurthala. She stated that after successful online submission of the application, the applicant will receive an acknowledgement message on the registered mobile number along with a receipt number.

Applications will be accepted till August 11, 2026. Applications can also be submitted on all working days between 9 AM and 5 PM either through the designated Sewa Kendras/CSCs or through physical mode at the District Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Office, Kapurthala.
