Lists of electors who did not appear for notice hearings handed over to representatives, uploaded on district website
Kapurthala, September 22: In compliance with the directions of the Election Commission of India, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Akash Bansal on Tuesday convened a meeting with representatives of all recognised political parties to review the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the district.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner apprised the representatives of the claims and objections received during the SIR process and reviewed the progress of proceedings pertaining to unmapped electors and electors with logical discrepancies during the notice phase from August 13 to October 8, 2026. He also handed over to the political party representatives the lists of electors who did not appear for their notice hearings. These lists have also been uploaded on the official district administration website, kapurthala.gov.in, for information of all concerned.
The Deputy Commissioner urged the representatives of political parties to give their fulsome support, through their party workers and Booth Level Agents (BLAs), the submission of requisite documents by electors falling under the unmapped and logical discrepancy categories who have not yet furnished the required documents to the concerned Booth Level Officers (BLOs)/Electoral Registration Officers (EROs). He further asked the political parties to extend all possible assistance to such electors and ensure that the requisite documents are submitted to the concerned BLOs by September 30, 2026, so that the claims and objections can be processed within the prescribed timeline.

Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Parvinder Singh Dhot, Inderjit Singh Jugnu from AAP, Dalwinder Singh from SAD, Baljeet Singh from Congress, Jaswant Singh, Baldev Singh, Rakesh Kumar from BSP, Baldev Singh from CPI (M) and KL Kaushal from CPI.
