Sports extravaganza to be inaugurated by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann at Bathinda on September 5

Deputy Commissioner Akash Bansal on Monday released the QR code for registration for ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan-2026’, being organized by the Punjab Government to promote sports and encourage youth participation in sporting activities.
The Deputy Commissioner said that ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan-2026’ would be inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann at Bathinda on September 5, 2026. He said that the sports extravaganza would be conducted in three stages—block-level, district-level and state-level competitions—on different dates.
Appealing to the youth and players of Kapurthala district to participate enthusiastically, the Deputy Commissioner added that sports play a vital role in ensuring the physical and mental well-being of youth while also inculcating discipline, team spirit and a healthy spirit of competition. He said that the initiative of the Punjab Government was providing a valuable platform to budding players to showcase their talent and hone their sporting skills.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officials to make all necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the competitions, with special focus on the convenience and security of players and ensuring proper facilities at the sports grounds.
District Sports Officer Kulwinder Singh said that players interested in participating in the games could register themselves through the concerned portal by scanning the QR code displayed on the publicity material and posters. He said that the Sports Department was making all necessary arrangements to ensure that the sporting competitions were conducted smoothly and successfully. He further informed that Basketball Coach Sunita Devi has been designated as the district nodal officer for Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan-2026.
