Rs 129.33 lakh spent on four completed works, 1.5-km railway road stretch being developed under SASCI Grant

In a significant step towards strengthening urban infrastructure and improving civic amenities, the Municipal Corporation Kapurthala has completed the construction of major roads under the Municipal Development Fund (MDF) Scheme, while several other road development works are currently underway across the city.
The road construction works from DC Chowk to Sainik School to Shiv Mandir Chowk and at Shalimar Bagh have been completed. An amount of Rs 129.33 lakh has been spent on the completed works under the MDF grant. Meanwhile, under the SASCI Grant, construction of a 1.5-km stretch of railway road has commenced, with Rs 83.23 lakh being spent under the grant. Besides this, the work of constructing CC flooring streets in Ward No. 13 is also in progress.
Divulging further details, MC Commissioner Anupam Kaler said that the Municipal Corporation was undertaking these development works with the objective of strengthening the city’s road infrastructure and ensuring improved civic facilities and greater convenience for residents. She directed the concerned authorities to ensure that all construction works were executed strictly as per the prescribed technical specifications and quality standards.
MC Commissioner also said that the Municipal Corporation was closely monitoring the ongoing development works to ensure their timely execution and quality. She said that special emphasis was being laid on maintaining the prescribed standards during construction and ensuring proper utilization of public funds. She added that the concerned officials and field teams had been directed to regularly inspect the works and immediately address any issues arising during execution.
