Kapurthala, September 15: Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI) has invited applications from eligible boys of Punjab for admission to its 17th Course. The institute provides specialized training and prepares young boys for entry into the National Defense Academy (NDA).
Deputy Commissioner Akash Bansal said that the entrance examination for the 17th Course of AFPI would be conducted on January 3, 2027 (Sunday). He said that the examination would comprise English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies, with the question paper based on the Class X CBSE standard. He said that only boys having Punjab domicile were eligible to apply. The candidate must have been born not earlier than January 2, 2010, and must be studying in Class X. Boys studying in Class XI could also apply; however, such candidates would be admitted to Class XI only if they fulfilled the prescribed age criteria and would consequently have to repeat Class XI.
The Deputy Commissioner said that selected candidates would be provided highly subsidized education for Classes XI and XII at one of the reputed schools in Mohali. He said that AFPI also offered excellent opportunities in sports and extracurricular activities to ensure the overall development of students. He added that modern hostel accommodation, comprising individual rooms with attached bathrooms, would be provided to students free of cost. He further said that interested candidates could apply online through the recruitment portal from 10 am on October 1, 2026, to 5 pm on December 15, 2026. For detailed information regarding eligibility, admission and the entrance examination, candidates could visit the official AFPI website, (http://www.mrsafpi.punjab.gov.in).
