Dr. Depinder Kaur, a retired principal with extensive experience in the education field recently assumed charge as Academic member of the Punjab Educational Tribunal.
The Punjab Government, vide an official notification, has appointed Dr. Depinder Kaur as Academic member of the Punjab Educational Tribunal for a term of three-year.
After assuming charge, Dr. Depinder Kaur expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains for entrusting her with this key responsibility. She said she would discharge her duties with utmost integrity, dedication and diligence, while living up to the confidence reposed in her by the Punjab government.
She assured that she would perform her duties in accordance with the instructions and regulations issued by the government from time to time.
Dr. Depinder Kaur said she would remain committed to pursuing required reforms in the education field, addressing issues concerning teachers and students, and contributing towards further strengthening the education system. She added that her foremost objective would be to discharge her responsibilities with fairness, sensitivity and dedication, and make a meaningful contribution to the advancement of education.
.Profile of Dr. Depinder Kaur
Dr. Depinder Kaur was born on January 5, 1968, to her father, Shri Rajinder Singh Hajuria, and mother, Smt. Harjeet Kaur, in Nadaun, Hamirpur district (Himachal Pradesh). She received her early education from various schools in Himachal Pradesh. In 1982, she topped the 10th class exams from Dharamshala, proving her talent.Her higher education journey was outstanding. She earned her B.Sc. (Medical) in 1987 from D.A.V. College, Kangra; M.Sc. Chemistry in 1989; M.Phil. (Physical Chemistry) in 1990 with a gold medal; and Ph.D. (Physical Chemistry) in 1993 from Himachal Pradesh University.
Dr. Depinder Kaur started her career in service on January 16, 1995, as a lecturer at Government College, Ropar. After about 12 years there, she was posted as Associate Professor at Government College, S.A.S. Nagar, Mohali, on July 6, 2007. Later, on May 12, 2010, she was transferred to Post Graduate Government College, Chandigarh, where she guided students for nearly 16 years.On July 19, 2024, she was promoted and appointed as Principal at Government State College of Education, Patiala. There, she handled her duties with skill, vision, and the administrative responsibilities given by the DPI (Colleges), retired on January 31, 2026.During her service, Dr. Depinder Kaur served as a Senate member and Board of Studies member at Punjabi University, Patiala. She has also served as an expert in the directorate of higher education Punjab. She contributed greatly to the all-round growth of institutions with full dedication.
