On the directions of Election Commission of India and Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, the district administration on Sunday organized special camps at all 805 polling stations to facilitate voters in checking and verifying their names and details in the Draft Electoral Roll published under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026.
At the camps, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) made the draft electoral rolls available to voters and assisted them in verifying their names, addresses and other particulars. The BLOs also guided citizens regarding electoral services and the procedure for filing claims and objections in case of any discrepancy in the draft roll.
The administration urged voters to make use of the special camps and carefully verify their entries in the draft electoral roll. Citizens who find any omission or error in their details can approach their concerned BLO and submit the prescribed claim or objection within the stipulated period.
The administration said that active participation by voters in the verification process is essential for ensuring that the electoral rolls remain accurate and updated. Voters can also access the draft electoral roll through the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab.
The special camps are part of the SIR 2026 exercise being undertaken as per the directions of the Election Commission of India, with the objective of ensuring a transparent, accurate and inclusive electoral roll.
