Cabinet Ministers Dhaliwal, Kataruchak and Bhagat urges people to become torch bearers in war against drugs

Vow to fight at all fronts for precious water of state -“Even if we have to go to jail, not a single drop of Punjab’s water will be given away” announces

Sultanpur Lodhi/Kapurthala, May 3:

With an aim to engage the masses in war against drugs, thousands of village and ward defense committees, sarpanches, panches, nambardars, and councillors in Kapurthala pledged to eradicate the drug menace in the state in the presence of Cabinet Ministers Kuldeep singh Dhaliwal, Lal Chand kataruchak and Mohinder Bhagat.

At a large gathering held on Sultanpur Road near the Rail Coach Factory, thousands of people declared their commitment to take the Punjab government’s anti-drug campaign to every village, town, and neighborhood.

Administering the oath to the people of Punjab’s Minister for NRI Affairs, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that “The Punjab government, with public support, will surely eradicate drugs. He announced that a “Nasha Mukti Yatra “ would begin across Punjab on May 7, reaching three villages in each block daily to mobilize people against drugs.

“ Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has successfully dismantled the drug supply chain by taking decisive action against drug traffickers, he added. He categorically stated that “Lavish houses constructed with drug money by traffickers will be demolished,”.

Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchakk said that along with taking exemplary action against drug traffickers, the Punjab government has provided 55,000 government jobs to youth on merit, instilling hope among them. He emphasized that public participation is crucial in eradicating this social scourge.

Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat said that “With public cooperation at the grassroots level, the Aam Aadmi Party government’s war against drugs will soon rid the state of this stigma.”

While talking to the media , the Ministers said that “ Punjab neither has surplus water nor will it give a single drop of its water to anyone else.” They said that  “ every administrative, legal, and political effort will be made to safeguard Punjab’s water resources.

The Ministers also said that “ In drug rehabilitation centers, the number of beds has been increased by 5,000 to ensure anyone willing to quit drugs can be reintegrated into mainstream society.

Earlier Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal and SSP Gaurav Toora outlined the district administration’s ongoing efforts to curb drug use. They assured strict action against drug traffickers while strengthening awareness campaigns.

Prominent amongst present on the occasion Lalit Saklani, Chairperson of the District Planning Board, Sajjan Singh Cheema, Chairman of Improvement Trust, Harsimran Singh Ghuman, Director, Water Resources and Harji Mann, Spokesperson of AAP, Pradeep Thind, District Coordinator for Nasha Mukti Morcha .
